tammysalvador.jpgAloha, Ewa Beach!

I know that Furlough Fridays are a touchy subject to many, but allow me to share my feelings with you. At first I was afraid and worried because of not getting paid for all these Fridays and that I would be taking a cut in pay every, but now I really look forward to the three-day weekends. I know it's really hard for families in which both parents are state employees.

I'm fortunate that my husband doesn't work for the state. He is the president of Diamond Head Plumbing, and my son goes to Lanakila Baptist High School, which is not affected by the furloughs. So I have the Friday to myself to do errands and extra cleaning.

It is funny how we’re not getting paid, but find ourselves at the malls spending money. After all, I wouldn't want to work anywhere else other than Kaimiloa Elementary School. I love all our kids and families at our school.

Thanks for letting me share!

I am proud to have "Cougar Pride"
